Bengaluru, March 8: Reshel Bretny Fernandes, a young author and orator with significant accomplishments at the national and international levels in the literary field, was honoured with the prestigious Kittur Rani Chennamma Award by the Government of Karnataka. The award was presented as part of the International Women's Day celebrations at Ravindra Kala Bhavana, Bengaluru, on Saturday, March 8.
She was felicitated by the guest of honour, Lakshmi Hebbalkar, minister for women and child welfare, along with Dr. Nagalakshmi Chaudary, chairperson of the State Women’s Commission, and other distinguished dignitaries.

Reshel Bretny Fernandes is the sole woman from Dakshina Kannada to receive this esteemed award.
Hailing from Surathkal, she is the daughter of educators Ronald and Nancy Fernandes. Currently, she is pursuing her LLB at SDM Law College, Mangaluru.
Reshel is an alumna of DPS MRPL, Ladyhill Victoria PU College, and Sri Mahaveera College, Moodbidri.
