Byndoor: Emergency care, dialysis, specialty healthcare services launched at Anjali Hospital

Byndoor, Mar 9: Kasturba Hospital, a renowned healthcare institution in the region, has expanded its services with the launch of emergency care, dialysis, and specialty healthcare consultations at Anjali Hospital in Byndoor. The new facilities were inaugurated on March 8, marking a significant step toward enhancing medical services in the region.

Dr H S Ballal, pro chancellor of MAHE Manipal, officially inaugurated the new healthcare services and in his inaugural note emphasized the importance of expanding medical access to underserved areas. He shared his views on the growth of healthcare in the region and the positive impact the new services would have on the community.

Nakatte Thimmappa Shetty, retired senior manager Vijaya Bank, inaugurated the emergency care services, highlighting the need for quick, reliable medical attention, particularly in rural areas like Byndoor. He assured that this new facility would play a critical role in saving lives and providing essential emergency services.

Gururaj Gantihole, MLA Byndoor constituency, inaugurated the dialysis center and in his presidential address spoke about the importance of providing specialized care to patients with chronic conditions. He expressed his support for the initiative and praised the efforts to bring world-class healthcare services to the region.

Dr Anand Venugopal, COO of Teaching Hospital MAHE, inaugurated the renovated pharmacy.

Dr Avinash Shetty medical superintendent of Kasturba Hospital Manipal, provided an overview of the healthcare services supported by Kasturba Hospital at Anjali Hospital, saying that “Now we are starting emergency care, dialysis and nephrology consultation services from March 20 and going forward, we will start special consultation services including cardiology, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, ophthalmology, G I surgery and other.” He explained the collaboration between the two institutions to ensure high quality of medical care.

Dr Annappa Shetty shared a brief overview of Anjali Hospital's journey and offered a heartfelt welcome.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mohan Shetty, manager-marketing, who expressed gratitude to all the guests, dignitaries, and participants for their presence and support in the successful launch of the new healthcare facilities.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including B Y Raghavendra, member of parliament for Shivamogga Lok Sabha, Dr Nagabhoshan Udupa, DHO, Udupi, S B Shetty, chartered accountant, Babu Shetty, president, managing committee, Sri Kolluru Mookambika Temple, B S Suresh Shetty, president, Samruddha Byndoor Charitable Trust and Dr Premananda K, taluk health officer, Kundapur, Dr Annappa Shetty, managing director of Anjali Hospital and other key community and healthcare leaders.

With the inauguration of these services, Kasturba Hospital and Anjali Hospital aim to further improve healthcare access for the people of Byndoor and surrounding areas, ensuring that quality care is available at the doorstep of the community.
