Karnataka modifies SOP for passengers coming from six states

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 23: In a tweet, Karnataka health department has stated that it has modified standard operating procedure (SOP) in respect of inter-state passengers arriving in Karnataka.

As per the new rule, people coming from high risk states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh will be subjected to seven days of institutional quarantine followed by seven days of home quarantine. They will be tested between fifth and seventh day.

As per the new rule, returnees from all the other states will have to undergo home quarantine.

The move apparently is aimed at saving cost of institutional quarantine.

Rules should be uniform for all states...it is quite possible some states are suppressing the reality / not testing as much / giving low figures...this kind of differential treatment for different states might tempt the states to give out low figures of infection / deaths...

    Quarantine is becoming ridiculous.

At least make covid 19 test compulsory before they travel to another state so that the virus does not spread while travelling and during quarantine.

If someone is tested positive then safety precautions can be made rigid for travel and then admit them directly to hospital. Or treat them in the same state before they travel.

That's a good idea to get tested before travel.
This way lots of inconvinence can be avoided... spread during travel is increasing at rapid pace.

If employees have to travel.. their employers should sponser the test.....
People are very well financially stable to buy liquor... they should be able to test themselves as well.

This will reduce I wanted travel as well.
Govt should also put a cap and bring down the price of testing in private labs.

How can you differentiate the rules for different states. Make it all home quarantine taking an authority letter to report to the nearest authority after completion of quarantine period for safety. If a person independently staying at his residence in isolation they should be allowed after checking the aarogya setu. We are all Indians and we respect the rights of each citizen and at the same time the citizens to co-operate for safety of all surrounding. Each individual wants to be safe and no one wants to infect others. The required safety measures are to be followed e.g social distance. Face mask. Hand wash etc
