Kasargod, Feb 23: A couple’s outing turned tragic on Saturday, February 22, in the evening at Kundukolle, Manjeshwar, when they fell into the sea.

While the wife, Malathi, was rescued by locals and rushed to the hospital, her husband, Bhaskar (56), remained missing.

Bhaskar, a tailor from Hosangadi, was with Malathi when the incident occurred. Initial reports suggest uncertainty over whether it was an accident or intentional. The discovery of their scooter nearby raised suspicion, and Malathi was found semi-conscious on the shore.

A search operation led to Bhaskar’s body being found on Sunday evening near Uppala Musodi. The body was retrieved by boat.

Manjeshwar police have launched an investigation.
