Mangaluru, May 4: The deputy commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada district Sindhu B Rupesh, who also happens to be the district magistrate, through a notification issued on Monday, May 4, denotified two more containment zones.

After COVID-19 positive cases were reported, the DC had issued a notification on April 17 as per which specific areas of the district were declared to be containment zones.

Based on the report of the district health and family welfare officer, the DC has now denotified Sampya village in Puttur taluk and Thumbe village in Bantwal taluk.

It may be recalled, last week, the DC had denotified three Sajipanadu village in Bantwal taluk, Janatha Colony of Karaya village in Beltangady taluk and Ajjavara village of Sullia taluk that had earlier been notified as containment zones.
