New Delhi, Feb 23: Sunil Bharti Mittal, founder and chairman of Bharti Enterprises, was honored with the prestigious Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) at a special investiture ceremony held at the British High Commissioner’s residence in New Delhi on Saturday.

The recognition, announced in 2024, was conferred upon Mittal by His Majesty The King for his outstanding contributions to UK-India business relations. Expressing his gratitude, Mittal described the honor as both a privilege and a responsibility, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening bilateral trade and investment ties between the two nations.

British High Commissioner to India, Lindy Cameron, lauded Mittal's contributions to the UK-India business ecosystem, highlighting his key investments in companies such as BT, Gleneagles, Norlake Hospitality, and OneWeb. She emphasized his role in the India-UK CEO Forum and his efforts to enhance economic cooperation.

Mittal recently led a high-profile Indian business delegation to the UK, engaging with top British leaders, including Prime Minister Keir Starmer, to explore new avenues for collaboration.
