Bengaluru, Apr 22: As part of the drive to help people to fight the Corona Virus (COVID 19) epidemic, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has launched the Aptamitra Mobile App and an exclusive toll free helpline number 14410.
The new facility enables people to seek any medical help and advice for the people having any systems so as effectively fight the COVID 19.
Under the Aptamitra Mobile App and Helpline service, the State Government seeks to reach out to people to help them and identify those having influenza like illness (ILI), severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) or COVID 19 like systems or even with those having the high risk of getting infected.
The two services also aim at providing people with telemedicine support with advice to buy over-the-counter medicines and also counsel them on the need to undergo self-quarantine so that not only they but their near and dear ones stay safe.
The Chief Minister launched the Aptamitra Mobile App and Helpline Number from his Home Office, Krishna, in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr C N Ashwathnarayan, Revenue Minister R Ashok, Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar were present on the occasion.
State Chief Secretary T M Vijayabhaskar, Chief Minister’s Additional Chief Secretary P Ravikumar, BMRCL Managing Director Ajay Seth, Health and Family Welfare Department Additional Chief Secretary Javed Akhtar, Labour Department Commissioner Capt P Manivannan and other senior officials were also present.
