Kalaburagi, Apr 19: A few days after the police registered a case over a chariot procession held in the taluk violating lockdown measures, another similar incident has come to light with some delay.
According to media reports, more than 200 people took part in the chariot festival of Hanuman temple at Bhoosanuru village of Alanda taluk in the district on April 15.
Police have registered FIR against 15 people and arrested three. It is said that laxity shown by officials allowed organisers to proceed with the festival. Alanda taluk is situated along the border with Maharashtra state where the number of coronavirus infected people is increasing day by day.
Recently, villagers of Ravoor of Chiitapur taluk had taken part in the chariot festival of Lord Siddalingeshwara.
Giving information on the incident Dayanand Patil, taluk tahsildar said, "We will get complete details of the matter and report the same. Police have registered FIR against 15 people. Suitable action will be taken."
"We have registered FIR against 15 people and have taken three into custody. Investigation with regard to the incident is in progress," said Suresh Kumar Chouhan, PSI of Nimbarga police station.
