Bengaluru, Apr 18: On Saturday, April 18, state home minister Basavaraj Bommai, interacted with Kannadigas who are stuck at Dubai, through video conferencing facility. He promised to ensure that all the Kannadigas there are rescued and asked them to be cheerful, confident and look after their safety.
Bommai called upon Kannadigas settled in Dubai to come to the aid of poor Kannadigas at this time of crisis. He advised them to extend a helping hand to Kannadigas working there as labourers. "Once the current critical phase passes, the government of India will extend all kinds of facilities," he stated. At the same time, he asked them not to worry about their families back home." There is no need to worry. The government will take care of the families of Kannadigas in Dubai," he added.

In UAE, 35 lives have been claimed so far by Coronavirus infection. Dubai being a part of the UAE, close watch is kept on the situation. Unbroken curfew is in force here since two weeks and no one is permitted to step out of their houses. Indian community including a good number of Kannadigas have been working here and many of them are either eager or being forced to go back.
