The ministers and the leaders must give support and make visits to the hospitals so that the health workers as well as corona patients feel comfirtable and know their vote value. This is the success behind Kerala patients recovery and minimise the mortality. Its not the time to atttend food distribution and party meetings.

Readers, Doctors, nurses, paramedics staff, are all humans.... They never hesitated to diagnose, aid and treat patients... Covid19 pandemic has unnerved them for variety of reasons, primarily this disease is highly infectious, no medicine is available to treat this world wide pandemic...... Worse the fear of being abused, assaulted, stoned to death, by rabid fundamentalists, makes them uneasy.... This hatred, weird behavior, by radicals, have put the fear in minds of these frontline warriors of our nation....

Contrary to these doctors running away; in Mumbai, per newsreports, just a plea for CORONA fighters, some 15000 people including docs, paramedics, pharmacists, retired nurses & even other professionals volunteered for HELP within 72 hours!!

While I do not agree with what they did, I also feel that people when they take the virus lightly and put themselves to unnecessary risk by defying social distancing should understand, if you thought God will save you while you took risk, do not go to hospital and just pray your time out of Corona.

Doctors won't sign a contract to 'die for the patient' like a soldier of army. If he want to treat he will treat. It is up to them. Like any other professions doctor is also a profession with out any bonding. He always has the right to safeguard himself and his family too.

Working in poor and dangerous conditions is not required of a medical facility anywhere in the world.

If we lose these precious front liners, nobody will be left in India to treat the mounting number of cases increasing in the country..

Am attaching a link copied from the Guardian , which will tell you the reality of the situation about dying health workers in USA.

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/apr/15/nurses-surgeons-janitors-first-us-health-workers-to-die-covid-19

Indian health professionals are not required to stand under the Banyan tree and treat patients with their bare hands and without protective gear. They too are humans first.

Leaders are thinking total lock down is "The only solution to the issue""!!!

There is no plan to take care of millions of people starving all over our country.

God bless the front liners of the world.

Very well said Aubb. 31 doctors and nurses have died in UK and that number is around 500 in italy. Doctors dont have to run away from the scene. But if they are not provided with appropriate safety gears, they should refuse to work POINT BLANK. The UK nursing and midwifery council, in an unprecedented move, has issued guidelines to its members and asked to refuse seeing the patients if they dont have right protective gear. Never happened before.

    Exactly..

We do not know yet, if the doctors declined on account of poor facilities, or with fear of contracting the virus in the line of their duty.

All doctors have right to refuse to treat a patient if they want to as per Medical council of india or any country.. These people might have been forced to work without PPE.. Good thing they have done.. Or administration might have harassed them....

CORONA phobia has spread so wildly that docs only give instructions of treatment to paramedical staff after studying reports & seldom go near the patients, more so because of the overwhelming patients/doc!

Take action on them for what exactly. They are humans. They have every right to be scared and protect themselves and Thier family from going near a infected person. They havent sworn any oath to die for the sake of saving a patient. You can't force a doctor to do something he doesn't want to do.

Action should be taken on them because they have wasted Authorities' valuable time and resources used for their training. Moreover they have fled without information which caused more difficulties for the public. If they are scared, they should not have not appeared for the training itself.

That's the reality... We are provided with triple layer masks for few people hide them and rest of us are forced to use our surgical masks... Wen we ask for a mask they ask us to tie our dupattas to cover and as health professionals it's not possible .. N95 maks r hidden in the cupboard and again not provided...we are reusing surgical masks or using cloth masks we get in the markets which is manufactured for the public .. the painful reality

Pinto sir, many medical items are hidden and staff bring them to home... Aprons/masks/bandages and so on... Just few years back, a government nurse who was working in public health centre used to carry bundles of bandages (white thin cloth to tie for the wounds or feactures) home and use for mopping the house, and some other personal work... Do you think, masks are not hidden? Patients have nothing...

What kind of masks/PPEs to be used by you depends on what kind of exposure you will have from the positive patients. Everyone need not use N95 masks and Hazmat suits.

Why should the medical professionals put their lives in danger because some people were careless or did not take proper measures to protect themselves. Earlier a medical professional would treat a man who has spoilt his health by bad habits whic is fine but not at the cost of his life. And people who are commenting why don’t you’ll find some protective gear if you find some and go and serve in the corona wards or hospitals.

To tell it is easy Antony. When we surrendered with death while serving only face of family members are come in mind. 50 numbers doctors and nurses are found positive in delhi. What's there mistake...all they are doing to run there family. Yes there is no escape from the profession. If same such situation arise..are you stay or run-away. To comment it is much easier to blame on others and show there responsibility.
