Udupi, Mar 14: Prasad Nethralaya Eye Hospital celebrated International Women’s Day with a special event, honoring the contributions of women in various fields. The programme featured two distinguished women achievers as chief guests Dr Sulatha V Bhandary, professor and head of the ophthalmology department at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, and Ramani Hande, chief architect at Ace Technocrats Pvt. Ltd.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guests emphasized the importance of women utilizing available opportunities to establish their presence in mainstream society. They highlighted that women should progress with confidence and cooperation rather than competition with men to achieve a strong position in family and society.

Dr Krishna Prasad Kudlu, medical director of Prasad Nethralaya Group of Hospitals, delivered the inaugural address, explaining the significance of International Women’s Day. Director Rashmi Krishna Prasad advised young women to avoid falling into negative influences in their pursuit of equality with men. She proudly stated that 90% of the hospital’s staff comprises women, and their dedication has been a driving force behind the institution’s success. She also expressed her appreciation for the male staff who have supported and contributed to this success.
During the event, the guest achievers were honored for their remarkable contributions. The hospital’s administrative officer, M V hosted the event, while Suman Salins and Delita introduced the achievements of the guests and extended a warm welcome. The event concluded with entertainment performances by the hospital’s doctors and staff, making the celebration a memorable one.
