Netanyahu rejects UN report alleging genocidal acts in Gaza

Daijiworld Media Network - Jerusalem

Jerusalem, Mar 14: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has slammed a UN investigation that accused Israel of committing "genocidal acts" in Gaza, calling the report "false and absurd."

In a strong statement, Netanyahu denounced the UN Human Rights Council as an "anti-Semitic, corrupt, and terror-supporting" body that unfairly targets Israel while ignoring crimes by Hamas. He criticized the report's claims that Israel deliberately attacked Gaza’s main fertility center and restricted reproductive healthcare.

The UN Commission of Inquiry stated that Israel’s actions—blocking medical aid and systematically destroying reproductive health facilities—amounted to "two categories of genocidal acts." The commission, established in 2021, said Israel's offensive following Hamas' October 7, 2023 attacks deliberately harmed Gaza’s reproductive capacity.

Israel has repeatedly rejected accusations of war crimes, maintaining that its military actions target Hamas and not Palestinian civilians. The UN findings are likely to intensify global debates over Israel's conduct in Gaza.
