Mumbai, Mar 7: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam has claimed that the financial condition of Mumbai Congress has deteriorated so much that the party is unable to pay rent for its office.
Speaking to IANS, Nirupam stated that the rent for the Mumbai Congress office has been pending for years, with dues touching Rs 18 lac. Additionally, unpaid electricity bills of Rs 5 lac have led to a power cut, and the electricity meter has reportedly been removed due to non-payment.

Contrasting the situation with his tenure as Mumbai Congress chief, Nirupam said, “During my four years, such a crisis never arose. The party’s monthly expenses, including rent and salaries, were managed. But now, I hear that Mumbai Congress employees haven’t been paid for 10 months.”
Taking a jibe at the current leadership, he alleged that Congress leaders are now more focused on making YouTube videos rather than strengthening the party. He also blamed the alliance with Shiv Sena (UBT) for Congress’ declining state, stating that leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge and Venugopal ignored his warnings.
Meanwhile, Nirupam also responded to Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah’s remarks on Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), asserting that PoK is an integral part of India and should be reclaimed. He expressed confidence that the Union Government would work towards ensuring an undivided Kashmir in the coming days.
