Bengaluru, Dec 29: The top brass of BJP has ended the speculations on change of chief minister (CM) in the state by expressing their support to Basavaraj Bommai. In addition, they have also said that the party will face the 2023 elections under the leadership of CM Bommai only.
In the state executive meeting of BJP that has begun in Hubballi from Tuesday national chief secretary and state in charge Arun Singh gave strict warning to BJP MLAs, ministers and office bearers and asked them to keep away from spreading rumours about change in guard in CM position.
It is also said that Arun Singh asked the party workers and leaders to work towards attaining 150 seats in the coming assembly elections.
State BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel made it very clear that there is no change in CM and Bommai will continue till the end of the term and the party will face 2023 assembly elections under his leadership.
Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the party will not mind criticizing Congress and JD (S) but no one should indulge in creating confusion and chaos by statements that tarnish the image of the party. Any such act will be considered as indiscipline.
Arun Singh gave special warning to ministers K S Eshwarappa and Murugesh Nirani, who held separate meetings during Belagavi assembly session.
Rumours were rife that CM Bommai is going to USA for knee surgery, immediately after the government was accused of bit coin and 40 percent commission scams. It was said that his treatment will take at least three months and some BJP leaders held separate meeting in Belagavi with the aim of taking the CM position.
