Mangaluru, Feb 3: The Konkani Natak Sabha (KNS) celebrated the feast of its patron saint, St Don Bosco, at Don Bosco Hall on January 31.
The day's events began with a thanksgiving Eucharistic Mass at St Ann's Church, Bejai, followed by a prayer service led by Rev Dr Rocky D'Cunha, president of KNS, at Don Bosco Hall.
A short stage programme was organized, with Michael D'Souza and Santosh Sequeira as chief guests. D'Souza recalled his childhood memories of visiting Don Bosco Hall for various competitions and praised KNS for promoting talents over the past 80 years.
The celebration included a cultural programme with games and singing performances, compered by Kankanady Loy Rego. President Dr Rocky D'Cunha delivered the feast message, while vice president Floyd D'Mello welcomed the gathering. General secretary Pamela Santos proposed a vote of thanks.
The event was attended by a large number of members from 16 units of the sabha, along with Fr Francis Fernandes OFM Cap, Oswald Rodrigues, and other dignitaries. The programme concluded with the singing of the KNS anthem, followed by dinner.
