First chartered flight from Saudi Arabia reaches Mangaluru

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SHP)

Mangaluru, Jun 3: The first chartered flight carrying Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia landed at Mangaluru International Airport on Tuesday June 2.

Ever since lockdown was enforced across the nation and international, domestic flight services were cancelled, several Indians were left stranded across different parts of the globe. Meanwhile, as relaxations were announced, the repatriation process under 'Vande Bharat Mission' also began.

However, apart from the country's efforts to bring back the stranded citizens of the country, some generous NRIs have also contributed towards the cause of helping people travel back home.

The flight which departed from Saudi Arabia landed safely at Mangaluru. The passengers on the flight are reportedly from Dakshina Kannada. In a video message by the passengers of the flight, they can be heard extending their gratitude. The passengers expressed feeling overjoyed for coming back to Mangaluru and appreciate the efforts of Zacharia Bajpe, Sharif Bolar, Zahid and the team of Al Muzain, a company that supplies industrial equipment, who made their repatriation possible.

Earlier on Monday, a chartered flight hired by Fortune Hotel Group owner, Praveen Shetty for his employees and others with emergency issues, had landed at Mangaluru International Airport from Ras Al Khaimah.

I worked in one of the hotels were they are kept on Quarantine.

    1)Hardly 10% wore Masks.
    2) no one is ready to stand in Queue, all are rushing like a fish market. normally to check in 30 rooms we would have taken 30 min however in this case it took 1 hr 30 min.
    3) even after telling them that all will get rooms , everyone wants us to give the rooms first to them.
    4) They do not know what is social distancing, even after placing sofa as barricade they are crossing it and coming towards us.
    5) They act as if they have come for picnic and go around in the hotel lifts up and down, which was later stopped after strict warning from cops.
    6) Smoking cigarettes in reception corridor during check in & later common arrears of the hotel.

We had flights which came from Dubai & Muscat before, all were so cooperative and very decent even after being put for Quarantine for 14 days.

Maintaining social distance was big challenge.

now i only hope everyone's tests comes negative and i do not have to be sacred of getting the virus.

During difficult time only humans come for others rescue with out asking faith/party/association etc etc. Where all big talking people with 100k plus crowds igniting peoples mind, probably went underground.

Since there was no flights allocated from Indian government through Vande Bharat mission from Dammam to Mangalore.
We appreciate Mr Zakria the CEO of Al Muzain took a great initiative to arrange chartered flight to Airlift around 1450 visit employes across various parts of india also by providing self quarantine facility to his employes.
Once again it was government of india and State took nearly a month to approve his request.

Ahmed..Heard in KSA now a days difficult to survive by companies as government increased fee of Residence Permit. Most of commodities price increased due to all of sudden VAT doubled from 5% to 15%. Locals are given high priority as such expatriates are having tough time each year. More of price of crude oil fall down drastically in international market only way of income to run the nation. From all angles they gheroaed with war..unable to handle situation so efficiently. Holy places without visitors all establishments shut down. How they cope with this in near future. As government already scrapped much of projects in which many contracting companies depended with huge staff to work in different fields. When there is no work on hand it is better to pack-up staffs which is much expensive instead of retain them with by giving continuous salary and benefits..and loss to any company.

It's better not to comment Shera if you are not a resident of Saudi Arabia. The vat increase will be effective only from July 1st.
    So verify before writing.
Leave to its residents. Why are you worried. At the present it doesn't matter which part of the world one resides, everyone is sailing on the same boat due to pandemic

Well job done by Zacharia Bajpe, Sharif Bolar, Zahid and the team of Al Muzain. May God bless them with more success. Billionair looters ambani/adanis/modis/parekhs/shahs are neglible compared to these soft hearted people. Indian Govt should recognise the good work and award them. Can we expect this from our Govt.? Let us watch and see.
