Mangaluru, Jun 3: The first chartered flight carrying Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia landed at Mangaluru International Airport on Tuesday June 2.
Ever since lockdown was enforced across the nation and international, domestic flight services were cancelled, several Indians were left stranded across different parts of the globe. Meanwhile, as relaxations were announced, the repatriation process under 'Vande Bharat Mission' also began.
However, apart from the country's efforts to bring back the stranded citizens of the country, some generous NRIs have also contributed towards the cause of helping people travel back home.
The flight which departed from Saudi Arabia landed safely at Mangaluru. The passengers on the flight are reportedly from Dakshina Kannada. In a video message by the passengers of the flight, they can be heard extending their gratitude. The passengers expressed feeling overjoyed for coming back to Mangaluru and appreciate the efforts of Zacharia Bajpe, Sharif Bolar, Zahid and the team of Al Muzain, a company that supplies industrial equipment, who made their repatriation possible.
