Karkala, Jun 1: Inna village of Karkala taluk was declared as the containment zone by the Udupi district commissioner G Jagadeesha on Monday, June 1 as a person in the locality tested positive for coronavirus.
The containment zone contains two houses with two people living in them. The boundaries of the containment zone are agriculture land in the east, stream in the west and north and open land in the south.
Entire Inna village is considered as the buffer zone. The boundaries of the buffer zone are Mundkoor village in the east, Palimar village in the west of Karkala, Padubidri national highway in the north and Shambhavi river in the south. The buffer zone contains 858 houses, 3,191 people residing along with 15 shops and 12 office spaces.
Raju K, assistant commissioner, Kundapur is appointed as the incident commander for the area.
