Bengaluru, May 31: In the midst of this pandemic, the political situation in the state is also getting heated up. On Sunday May 31, 'Operation Kamala' was in full display as a Congress leader joined BJP.
Timmananjaiah, Congress leader and husband of a BBMP member of T Dasarahalli constituency joined the BJP.
Former BJP MLA of T Dasarahalli S Muniraju worked relentlessly to help the people who were in distress during the lockdown due to coronavirus. He had supplied grocery and vegetables to many people. During this time, he also actively gave impetus to 'Operation Kamala' in the constituency and managed to woo Timmananjaiah to join the party, it is said.
Timmananjaiah's wife Lalitha is in power from the Peenya industrial area ward of the city representing Congress party.
Timmananjaiah's entry into BJP has reportedly sent shockwaves among the local Congress leadership, especially in the backdrop of recent statement by BJP leaders that several Congress members were on the verge of joining the saffron party.
Timmananjaiah joined BJP in a simple ceremony held at Bagalagunte in T Dasarahalli. Former BJP MLA Muniraju, party president of the constituency Lokesh, leaders like Narasimhamurthy, C M Nagaraju, Umadevi and others were present.
