Mangaluru: St Agnes PG Centre bids farewell to 8th batch, welcomes 9th batch PGDGC students

Mangaluru, Aug 16: A red letter day for St Agnes PG Centre, here- The graduation ceremony of the eighth batch and initiation of the ninth batch of its Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counseling Coursewas recently celebrated .

The programme had a dynamic personality, Dr Austin Prabhu, editor, Veez e-magazine, a Konkani international illustrated weekly as chief guest and Terry Pinto as the Guest of Honour.

Dr Sr M Jeswina AC, principal of St Agnes College presided over the function and in her address congratulated the graduates of eighth batch while welcoming ninth batch to the PGDGC course and highlighted the growing need for the course which sent out graduates into society like angels to many in need.

Dr Austin Prabhu in his address, stressed on the need for good counselors to uplift society and how each one must identify another fellow in need, support and guide one another to help them find strategies to address their various issues. Past graduates of this course emphasized how this course provided an insight into the needs, desires, fears and pressures of different people, emphasizing mainly on empathy.

The oath taking currently saw 20 new participants of ninth batch 'Phoenix' symbolizing rising of the mythological bird from ashes to glory, emerging strong and powerful from within.
