Moodbidri: Jain seer condoles death of Pope Francis, recalls his message of peace

Moodbidri, Apr 21: The passing away of Pope Francis, the supreme spiritual head of the Christian faith, at the age of 88 on April 21, 2025, has deeply saddened people across the globe.

In a condolence message, Jagadguru Dr Swastishree Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Panditacharya Swamiji, the pontiff of the Sri Digambar Jain Mutt, Moodbidri, Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka, expressed grief and offered prayers for the departed soul.

“We pray that strength be granted to all his followers to bear the sorrow of this great loss. Pope Francis worked sincerely for peace, harmony, and brotherhood among all. He maintained good relations with people of various faiths and religions. Every year, we would receive greetings and messages of peace from Vatican City on the occasion of Mahaveer Jayanthi,” Swamiji recalled.

“We pray for his soul to attain peace and noble salvation. Om Shanti,” the message concluded.
