Mangaluru, Apr 21: The four-day children's summer camp organized by Ranga Swaroopa (R), marking its 20th anniversary, concluded with a valedictory function and award presentation at the Government School in Marakada, Kunjathbail.
Govind Madiwala, deputy director of the Dakshina Kannada district school education department, inaugurated the event. Speaking on the occasion, he said teaching young children has become a growing challenge. He noted that there are 1,772 schools in Dakshina Kannada and appreciated the initiative by Marakada Government School in association with Ranga Swaroopa, calling it a model worth emulating by others.
On the occasion, retired teacher and folk scholar KK Pejavar, a recipient of the State Award, was honored with the 'Ranga Swaroopa-2025' award.








Speaking after receiving the award, Pejavar suggested that such camps should be held regularly so that children experience joy in learning. "When children celebrate learning every day, it enhances the educational process," he said.
Ranga Swaroopa honorary advisor N Shivaprakash presided over the programme. President Rehman Khan Kunjathbail delivered the welcome address.
Former MCC member Sharath Kumar and headmistress of Marakada Government Primary School A Nethravathi were present as chief guests.
Ranga Swaroopa general secretary Subrahmanya Kasargod was felicitated on the occasion. Camp director Zubair Khan Kudla welcomed the gathering. Members Taslima Banu and Aneesa Savad read the award citations, while honorary president Premnath Marne compared the programme. The vote of thanks was proposed by Subrahmanya Kasargod.
The valedictory program concluded with cultural performances by the camp participants.
