Annual Feast of patron St Philomena celebrated at Puttur

Puttur, Aug 11: Divya Chethana Association of St Philomena College and St Philomena PU College Puttur celebrated Annual Feast of Patron St Philomena on Saturday, August 10 in college auditorium.

The secretary of Catholic Board of Education, Mangaluru Fr Antony Michael Shera participated as the main celebrant. He said, “St Philomena is a great Saint. We are all under her shelter. Every Saint has his own past. God expects all of us to be holy. Holiness is not one time affair. It comes from our continuous efforts. We should become more generous. Then God surely will bless us. All of us must imitate the good qualities of St Philomena and achieve great success.”

Correspondent Fr Alfred J Pinto expressed the best wishes. Campus director Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro acknowledged the support extended by donors and well wishers.

Principal of St Philomena PU College Fr Vijay Lobo, parish priest of Maril Church Fr Valerian Frank, parish priest of Bannur Church Fr Prashanth Fernandes, rector of Santhome Guru Mandira Minor Seminary Fr Sunny Mathew, parish priest of Panja Church Fr Amith Rodrigues, assistant professor of PG Studies in Commerce Fr Sunil George D’Souza, assistant priest of Mae De Deus Church Fr Larry Pinto and others participated in this sacred event.

The second part of this programme consisted of various cultural items. Principal Prof Leo Noronha, faculty members and the students of St Philomena PU and Degree College participated in this programme. Director of Divya Chethana Association Fr Rithesh Rodrigues coordinated the programme.
