Udupi: Sainik Diwas celebrated at St Cecily’s PU College

Udupi, Jul 26: St Cecily’s PU College paid tribute to the valour and sacrifice of the defence personnel of the country by celebrating Sainik Diwas.

Col Victor Francis D’Souza, retired army officer was the chief guest. Col Victor has to his credit 36 years of service to the Indian Army. The chief guest was felicitated for his accomplishments as a gallant soldier. The honours were done by Sr Rachana, the principal and some of the members of the staff. The war veteran gave an inspiring account of his thrilling experiences during his tenure in the army. He motivated the youngsters to consider joining the defence forces and serve the nation.



The occasion witnessed a variety of performances to pay tribute to war heroes. The participants depicted the sentiments of patriotism through songs and dances. A meaningful skit portraying the supreme sacrifice of the Indian soldiers moved the audience to tears.

The programme was coordinated by Soumya, lecturer in Computer Science. Vinet D’Souza, lecturer in Biology, introduced the chief guest and Zuha rendred the vote of thanks. Riza Kauser compered the programme.
