Mangaluru, Jul 17: The Orientation Programme for postgraduate students of St Aloysius College was held on July 17 at LCRI Hall of the college.
Rector of St Aloysius Institutions, Fr Dionysius Vaz, SJ presided over the programme. Principal, Fr Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, registrar, Dr A M Narahari, controller of Examinations, Dr Alwyn D’Sa, dean of PG Studies, Dr P P Sajimon, directors of PG courses, Dr Richard Gonsalves and Dr Loveena Lobo and all the HODs of PG departments were present on the dais.
Addressing the gathering, Fr Dionysius Vaz, SJ said that, education is a continuous process which starts when we are born and continues till we die. We have to pray to God not for success but ask for wonders. He said that the students should have a desire to achieve something in their life. He also suggested that the students adopt multidisciplinary and multi-cultural approach during their study.
Fr Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, welcomed the students to the beautiful campus. He suggested that the students have a desire to do something new with a strong determination. He also asked the students to dream and turn the dream into thoughts and thoughts into action. “Students should have a passion to do great things and develop patience and perseverance to succeed in their life,” he added.
Dr Vidya Vinutha D’Souza compered the programme. Preema Pais and team conducted the prayer service. Dr Loveena Lobo welcomed the gathering. Dr Richard Gonsalves introduced the HODs to the students. Dr P P Sajimon proposed the vote of thanks.
