Media Release

Mangaluru, Jul 15: The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was recently celebrated by Carmel School with great joy and enthusiasm by the staff and students.

The lovely convent chapel of St Ann’s and the beautiful singing of the school’s liturgical choir set the ambiance for the Carmel family which gathered for the eucharistic celebration offered by Fr Rayan Pinto OCD.

Father Rayan in his homily enriched the congregation with a wonderful reflection on ‘Carmel is a Garden of God’ and also emphasized three virtues of the heavenly mother that are to be imbibed namely prayer, obedience and self sacrifice.

A spectacular cultural programme was arranged by the teachers and students of grade VIII A and IX A. The celebration commenced with a solemn prayer service that accentuated the importance of grace towards growth in divine intimacy. 'Whoever wears the scapular will be protected from all danger and harm'- This promise of Our Lady of Mount Carmel to St Simon Stock was beautifully exemplified in the skit entitled 'The Brown Scapular'.

Tableau on 'In Search of God' portrayed the ten virtues of divine mother. Sister Sarika the principal delivered an inspiring message to the teachers and students. She advised the students to be more loving and caring in society and thus make a difference in their lives and the lives of others.

Sister Sarika, Sister Rose Agnes, administrator, Sister Gracy vice principal and Sister Merlyn coordinator organized a staff get-together that was filled with games and fun activities. Sister Maria Kripa joint secretary of the school graced the occasion.

Kanish, Khatija Nada, Sharanya, Aysha Banu, Lewina Noronha compered the programme, Nada Meher proposed the vote of thanks and Tajooba welcomed the gathering.
