Mangaluru, Jul 11: “Extracurricular activities along with academic education are conducive to intellectual growth of students. Students should inculcate creative activities from childhood. Love, interest, dedication and efforts are also necessary,” said well known drawing artiste Ganesh Somayaji who addressed students as chief guest at the inauguration of various clubs at Shakti Residential School.
Another guest, well known poetess Chandrakala Nandavara said that the knowledge of our elders is the source of the present day science, music, drawing and modern subjects. “Therefore, students while getting academic knowledge should indulge in non curricular activities such as arts, music, dance etc,” she said.
Shakthi Education Trust secretary and school convener Sanjith Naik presided over the hall programme. Gopalakrishna temple managing trustee, K C Naik, convener Sanjith Naik, management officer Bykadi Janardhan Achar, development office Nasim Banu, Shakthi PU College principal Prabhaker G S were present.
School principal Vidya Kamath G delivered an introductory address. Chinmayi briefly explained the importance of the different clubs. Sinchana welcomed the guests. Rishik rendered the vote of thanks. Siddanth Acharya compered the programme.
