Dubai, Jun 16: Riding on their powerful batting display in the tri-series in Bangladesh, Indian opener Gautam Gambhir and his Pakistani counterpart Salman Butt [Images] on Sunday jumped identical seven places to break into the top-20 ICC ODI ranking for batsmen.
Gambhir claimed the 20th spot while Salman, who was declared player of the tournament leapfrogged to 16th spot.
Gambhir, who finished as the leading scorer of the series with 209 runs, is the fourth Indian batsman to feature in the top-20 after Sachin Tendulkar (3rd), captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (9) and Yuvraj Singh (14).
The other Indian opener Virender Sehwag rocketed to 38th position after an improvement of 11 positions.
Younis Khan, who won the man-of-the-match award for his innings of 108 in the summit clash, is in 33rd spot after improving one place.
Among the bowlers, all-rounder Shahid Afridi wrested his way to the sixth place, climbing four places in the ICC ODI bowler ranking, while his compatriot pacer Umar Gul, who was the leading wicket-taker in the series jumped 10 places at 21.
At the top of the ladder is New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori followed by Australia's Nathan Bracken .
