CET: Document verification for special category quotas to begin from May 5

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Apr 23: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced that document verification for candidates applying under special categories — including Sports, NCC, Defence, and other quota-based reservations — for the Common Entrance Test (CET) 2024 will commence from May 5 at the KEA office in Bengaluru.

KEA executive director H Prasanna informed that an online link will soon be made available on the KEA’s official website, enabling candidates to pre-book their preferred date and time for the verification process.

Breaking from previous tradition, where verification occurred post the announcement of CET ranks, this year’s verification will be conducted beforehand. This move aims to facilitate a smoother option entry process for students once results are declared.

According to officials, nearly 10,000 aspirants have applied under various special categories and quotas. A ten-day window has been designated for the verification procedure. Candidates must report in person with their original documents as per the allocated schedule.

KEA has clarified that candidates who make corrections in their application after initial verification must undergo a second round of verification to validate those changes. Failure to do so will result in the rejection of the revised information.

The authority further revealed that document verification for approximately 1,000 candidates will be conducted on a daily basis. The KEA has urged all applicants to strictly adhere to the schedule and guidelines for a seamless verification process.
