Udupi, Apr 23: In connection with the illegal red stone mining, Udupi district superintendent of police Dr K Arun has suspended a total of 9 police personnel from Byndoor, Gangolli, and Kollur police stations for alleged dereliction of duty.
These officers have been suspended for failing to gather accurate information and for showing negligence in their duties regarding the illegal red stone mining taking place within the jurisdictions of these three police stations. SP Dr K Arun clarified that the investigation so far has not found evidence of their direct involvement in the illegal activities.
Similarly, departmental inquiries have been ordered against the sub-Inspectors of Byndoor, Gangolli, and Kollur police stations in connection with this case. Dr Arun stated that further action will be taken against them based on the outcome of the inquiry.
