Bangalore, Jun 5: Three days after the June 22 felicitation in New Delhi by BCCI, Kapil Dev and rest of India's 1983 world cup winning team would revisit Lord's, where they had scripted the most memorable chapter in the history of Indian cricket 25 years ago.
The visit to Lord's on June 25 will be followed by a gala dinner in London hosted by the UB group, the company said in a statement.
As part of UB group's plans for the silver jubilee of the occasion, Kapil, who led the team to the unmatched feat, and master batsman Sunil Gavaskar presented a special cricket bat signed by the entire team of 1983, which will be encrusted with diamonds and auctioned by the UB group in association with an auction house.
“This is our way of ensuring that the silver jubilee celebrations are memorable for millions of those who were a either a part of it or yearned to be one,” Kapil and Gavaskar were quoted as saying in the statement.
