Moscow, Mar 14: Russian president Vladimir Putin has expressed gratitude to former US president Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their diplomatic efforts in seeking a resolution to the Ukraine conflict. While indicating Russia’s willingness for a ceasefire, Putin emphasized certain conditions that need to be met before any formal agreement.

"We appreciate the efforts of global leaders, including Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in facilitating peace talks. However, any ceasefire must ensure Russia’s security concerns are addressed," Putin stated in a televised address.

His remarks come amid intensified discussions on finding a peaceful solution to the prolonged war in Ukraine. While diplomatic channels remain open, Putin’s stance suggests that Russia will not agree to an unconditional ceasefire.

Global powers continue to push for de-escalation, with India maintaining its position of dialogue and diplomacy as the only way forward. Meanwhile, Ukraine and its allies are yet to respond to Putin’s latest statement.
