Mangaluru, Sep 13: The graduation ceremony of Mangala Group of Educational Institutions that includes, New Mangala College of Nursing, Mangala School of Nursing, Mangala College of physiotherapy, Mangala College of Allied Health Sciences, and Mangala College of Paramedical Sciences was held on September 5, Thursday at Town Hall.
The ceremony was presided by chief guest, Dr G Arun Mayya, professor and dean (physiotherapy), MCHP, MAHE, Manipal. He spoke about the three necessary requirements in healthcare professionals, namely right attitude, aptitude and altitude. He stressed that with the right attitude and aptitude a person can reach the highest altitude.
The chairman and founder of the institution Dr Ganapthi P, spoke about the importance of perseverance, patience and determination that must be inculcated in healthcare professionals in today’s healthcare sector.
The ceremony witnessed the graduation of a total of 328 students and felicitation of 7 overall rank holders, 5 academic toppers, 7 gold medalists of Mangala College of Allied Health Sciences and 5 best outgoing students.
Prof Subramanya Nayak, principal, Mangala School of nursing and New Mangala College of Nursing, Prof Bharath K H, principal, Mangala College of Physiotherapy, Prof Pratijna Suhasini G R, principal, Mangala College of Allied Health and Paramedical Sciences presented the annual reports for the academic year 2023-2024.
Vice chairman Dr Anitha G Bhat and Dr Praveen Rai, sports medicine consultant, orthopedician, Mangala Hospital were present for the ceremony.
Dr Moideen Nafseer, academic advisor, Mangala Group of Educational Institutions and urologist, Mangala Kidney Foundation welcomed the gathering. Prof Geethalakshmi, vice principal, Mangala College of Allied Health and Paramedical Sciences, proposed the vote of thanks. Sindhoori S Shetty, assistant professor, department of physiology and Shivakeerthi M Bhat, lecturer, department of physiotherapy hosted the ceremony. The event concluded for the day with annual day celebrations that commenced post the graduation ceremony.
