M'luru:'World Liver Day' marked at Indiana Hospital with health awareness programme for auto drivers

Mangaluru, Apr 19: As part of "World Liver Day" observance, Indiana Hospital and Heart Institute, Mangaluru, organised a health awareness programme for auto drivers on Saturday, April 19, aimed at promoting liver health.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, MLC Ivan D’Souza emphasised the vital role the liver plays in maintaining overall body health. “The liver is one of the most powerful organs in our body, and we must take proper care of it to ensure overall well-being,” he said. He appreciated the hospital’s initiative to educate auto drivers, calling it a commendable effort.

 

 

 

Presiding over the programme, Dr Yusuf Kumble, medical director of Indiana Hospital and Heart Institute, stated that maintaining a healthy lifestyle and proper diet can significantly contribute to good liver health.

Liver health experts, including Dr Apoorva Jayadev and Dr Nihal Ali Kumble shared useful information and tips on how to protect and maintain liver health.

On the occasion, health cards were distributed to the participating auto drivers. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by diabetologist and intensivist Dr Aditya Bharadwaj.

On the occasion of World Liver Day, Indiana Hospital is offering a special Liver Health Check-up package at a discounted rate of Rs 1,500, reduced from the actual cost of Rs 2,930. This offer is valid from April 19 to May 3.
