Karkala: Construction worker falls from first floor, dies

Karkala, Aug 12: A construction worker lost balance and died after falling down from the first floor of the under construction building here. The incident took place at Belman here on Thursday August 12.

The deceased is identified as Prahlad Sarkar (23), a resident of West Bengal. He was employed for cementing work at the under construction building owned by Edward Misquith under contractor Chowdappa Gachannanavar. The construction workers were provided accommodation at the construction site. Prahlad too was staying at the site. As there was no barrier, he lost balance and fell down from the first floor of the building and died.

A case in this connection is registered at Karkala rural police station.
