Kasargod: Two Lord Ayyappa devotees walk 8,000 km from Badrinath to Sabarimala

Kasargod, Jan 13: Two Lord Ayyappa devotees completed an 8,000 km journey on foot from Badrinath in North India to Sabarimala in Kerala, praying for world peace. The journey, which took 223 days, concluded on Saturday, according to the Tiruvankoor Devaswom Mandali.

Sanath Kumar Nayak and Sampath Kumar Shetty left Badrinath on May 26, 2024, and began their foot march on June 3, 2024. Along the way, they visited the four mathas established by Adi Shankaracharya and many temples. In some locations, they ate food provided by the temples, while in others, they prepared their own meals.

Their route included visits to Ayodhya, Ujjain, Dwarka, Puri, Rameshwaram, Achankovil, and Erumeli before reaching Sabarimala.
