Mangaluru, Jan 13: A day-long paediatric cardiology camp will be held on January 16 at AJ Hospital, Kuntikana, offering free consultations and tests for children with heart issues, informed paediatric cardiologist Dr Prem Alva.

Addressing the media on Monday, January 13, Dr Prem Alva stated, "One in 100 children faces heart problems, but many parents are unaware of the necessary treatment procedures. Financial constraints often deter them from seeking medical attention due to high costs."

The camp, scheduled from 9 AM to 3 PM, will provide free consultations, heart scans, and echocardiograms for children. For cases requiring surgery, children holding BPL cards can undergo treatment free of cost under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, he added.

Assistant manager – corporate relations & business development, Preetham Vas, was also present at the press briefing.
