Mangaluru: CODP offers month long free tailoring classes

Mangaluru, Aug 11: Canara Organization for Development and Peace (CODP), Mangaluru, and CEI Italy began month-long free tailoring classes at Chelyaru gram panchayat auditorium on Aug 5, 2021.

Resource person, CODP program manager Lynette Gonsalves explained about the natural resources, protection of the environment, problems by use of plastic waste, and benefits of using cotton bags. “The training is being held so that women may be self-employed and increase their income. All should make use of it,” she said.

CODP self-help association member Molly Furtado shared her experience of starting a tailoring profession after learning tailoring from CODP.

Trainer Hitakshi, CODP staff members Pushpaveni and Shilpa D’ Souza were present.

32 students were present in the tailoring class. The classes were held under the guidance of CODP director Fr Vincent D’ Souza.

Jyothi Daya and self-help association Asha Rodrigues welcomed. Chelyaru gram panchayat member Rekha thanked.
