Kundapur: Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary visits Anegudde Vinayaka temple

Kundapur, Aug 10: Minister of social welfare Kota Srinivas Poojary along with his wife and daughter visited Anegudde Vinayaka temple on Tuesday and offered pooja and prayers. He was felicitated by the temple authorities on the occasion.

He arrived at the Kundapur BJP office later where he was cordially welcomed and felicitated. Responding to the felicitations, he assured that he will perform his duties to provide justice to society so that the trust bestowed by the party on him may not go false.

“A few false cases were registered against Hindu activists in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district during the term of the previous government. I have requested home minister Araga Jnanendra to withdraw those cases on the basis of requests submitted by Hindu organization activists. The home minister has assured that he will obtain all the files relating to such cases, scrutinize the contents and withdraw false cases,” he said.

Kundapur mandala BJP president Shanker Ankadakatte presided. Karnataka state food and civil supplies board vice president Kiran Kodgi, Kundapur municipal council president Veena Bhasker Mendon, vice president Sandeep Kharvi, urban development authority president Vijaya S Poojary, district BJP vice president Kishore Kumar B, Dakshina Kannada BJP assistant in charge Rajesh Kaveri, district chief secretary Sadananda Uppinakudru, fisheries federation district president Sadananda Balkur, SC Morcha district president Gopalakrishna Kalanje, OBC chief secretary Vittal Poojary and former district panchayat member Srilatha Suresh Shetty were present. Mahila morcha and various elected representatives congratulated minister Kota Srinivas Poojary.

BJP Yuva morcha president Sathish Poojary Vakwady welcomed. District BJP chief secretary Saresh Shetty compered the programme and thanked.

Minister Kota was congratulated by SC morcha for increasing the package to Rs five lacs to construct houses for scheduled caste families.

This was his first visit to Kundapur after becoming the minister. He was congratulated in the leadership of SC morcha district president Gopala Kalinje.

The minister said that there are 25 lac families belonging to scheduled caste in the state. “Unnecessary expenditure in the ministry will be curtailed to fund the construction of houses. There will be complete transparency in the department of social welfare,” he said.
