Sullia, Aug 10: In a heart-wrenching incident that occurred in the town an elderly woman, mother of a couple who turned positive for corona, was abandoned as the couple locked the house from outside and left for some other place.
Couple Rajeshwari and Vinayakumar, who used to earn a living by selling bangles in the vicinity of Sullia, were living with their elderly mother in a rented house near Santhosh movie theatre at Gandhinagar. Last week the couple were detected having positive for coronavirus. They abandoned their elderly mother inside the house on Saturday and locked the house from outside. On Monday, public came to know about the incident as the elderly woman started wailing from inside the house. She was rescued under the leadership of Sullia sub inspector Harish.
