Mangaluru: Session on 'Developing Online Teaching Skills' held at SMVITM, Bantakal

Mangaluru, Oct 19: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in association with the ISTE Faculty Chapter of SMVITM, Bantakal, organised a session on 'Developing Online Teaching Skills' for the benefit of the faculty of SMVITM, on October 17 at the institute premises. The resource person for this session was Jagdish Acharya, CEO, Paints and Coatings Skill Council and also the honourable governing council member of the institute.

Acharya addressed the participants online and the faculty gained many insights and ideas, which are especially useful during the current scenario of online teaching. Acharya began the session by highlighting the common problems faced by the faculty and students during the online classes and proceeded by providing ideas on different considerations that a faculty should take into account, before, during and after the online class. He concluded the session by providing some useful tips to the participants.

Sooraj Kumar, secretary of ISTE faculty chapter welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person to the participants. Dr Sudarshan Rao, dean of Quality Assurance on behalf of SMVITM, expressed his gratitude to Jagdish Acharya for the fruitful session. The principal, Professor Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, vice-principal, Dr Ganesh Aithal, deans, HoDs of various departments and faculty were present during the session.
