Mangaluru: Daredevil divers save life of drowning woman at Ullal

Mangaluru, May 29: Vikram Putran and Kunal Ameen Ullal, members of Karnataka state award and Dakshina Kannada district Rajyotsava award winning Shivaji Jeevarakshaka Yuvaka Mandala, Mogaveera Patna, Ullal, saved the life of a Muslim woman who was found drowning at sea, by risking their own lives.

The incident took place some time ago, but the video of the brave act has gone viral now. 

They said that humanity is a virtue that is beyond the purview of religion. They also added that Tulunadu has been following the culture and tradition of rescuing people following different religious faiths without checking their religious antecedents, and purely as per the demands of the situation at hand.

It may be recalled, in another incident, 19-year-old Nishanth from Kalladka who jumped into Netravati river in Panemangalore was rescued by a few Muslim youths on May 24. He later died without responding to the treatment.

    ಉಳ್ಳಾಲ ಕಡಲಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಮಹಿಳೆಯನ್ನು ಜೀವದ ಹಂಗು ತೊರೆದು ವಿಕ್ರಂ ಪುತ್ರನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕುನಲ್ ಅಮೀನ್ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
    ಜನ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಮರಣದ ನಡುವೆ ನಾವು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗುವ ಒಂದಷ್ಟು ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳೇ ಸಾರ್ಥಕ ಜೀವನ.
    ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರೇ, ವಾಟ್ಸ್ ಆಪ್ ಮತ್ತು ಫೇಸ್ ಬುಕ್ ಗಳ ಜಾಲರಿಗಳ ಆಚೆ ಬದಿಯಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣು ಮತ್ತು ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳಿಗೆ ಉಣಬಡಿಸುವ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಪ್ರಪಂಚ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ ಲೋಕ. ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸರಿಸಿ ಆಚೆಗೆ ನೋಡಿದರೆ, ವಿಜ್ಹ್ರಂಭಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕೆಡುಕುಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಧಾರಾಳವಾಗಿ ಒಳಿತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿ, ಈ ಲೋಕ ನಾವೆಣಿಸಿದಷ್ಟು ನೀಚ ಅಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಸತ್ಯ ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ.
    ಒಳಿತು ಈ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವವರೆಗೆ ಈ ಲೋಕ ಉಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ, ಒಳಿತು ತೀರಾ ಇಲ್ಲವಾದಾಗ ಈ ಲೋಕ ನಶಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಧರ್ಮಗ್ರಂಥಗಳು ಸಾರುತ್ತವೆ. ಯಾರೂ ನಿರಾಶೆ ಗೊಳ್ಳದಿರಿ. ಅಂತ್ಯ ದಿನದ ವರೆಗೆ ಈ ಪ್ರಪಂಚವೆಂದೂ ಸಾಯದು. ಕಾರಣ ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಭಾರತ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಧಾರಾಳವಾಗಿ ಮೊಹಮ್ಮದ್, ತೌಸೀಫ್, ಆಸೀಫ್, ಮುಕ್ತಾರ್, ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಕ್ರಂ ಪುತ್ರನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕುನಲ್ ಅಮೀನ್ ಅನ್ಯೋನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಬಾಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಲ್ಲೊಂದು ಇಲ್ಲೊಂದು ಅಪಸ್ವರಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರತು ಪಡಿಸಿದರೆ ಈ ಲೋಕ ತುಂಬಾ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಪ್ರೇಮದ ಸರಿಗಮವೇ ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಪ್ರತಿಧ್ವನಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.

    All my life i lived in this beautiful place Mangalore. Its only our Politicains that have changed the face of Mangalore by giving a religioous colour to it. Few years ago there was no Hindu, Muslim and christian . today religion is highlighted . Please stop and support all and let this hatred stop. Its enough

    I dont understand your logic how come the community of 85% is not vote bank but 15% is vote bank..the reality is in centre the vote bank is utilized by bjp and your his vote bank please have some logic always majority is vote bank not minority if full minority gives vote to 1 person as per your logic can he win centre pm seat it's a clear no. Check the history you will not find a single pm of india to be a muslim or Christian. So come out of dream world and dont be dumb as minority is not a vote bank.

    85% of people vote on their own logic & judgments ,hence they are not vote banks where in other cases their religious heads and institutes decide whom to vote and not to vote, therefore a lot of gulaams try to pacify them and make their vote bank from years , use your dumb logic and now go and search how many minorities have been the president of India with such less popultion.

    Half baked truth is very harmful brother. This event took place 7 months ago as far as i could remember in Ullal not a recent one (as this article mentions it took some time ago) and those mogaveera lifeguards and other many lifeguards for that matter from Mangalore were awarded multiple times on many occasions regardless of their religion by organizations & politicians of all parties.

    As far as politicising another event is concerned which took place lately started with Shobha karandlaje's tweet i.e, "Received an information that Jihadis had allegedly murdered Hindu organisation’s Nishanth from Kalladka. I have already asked Amit Shah to initiate action against Jihadis,” read the tweet which was shared widely. She has been booked several times by cops for spreading communal hatred thru her tweets.

    This was later condemned by MLA UT Khader, who urged Shobha Karandlaje to issue a clarification. Despite this, the screenshot and other communal messages were circulated a lot in the coastal districts.

    Your vote bank comment doesn't make any sense to me. Because all parties play petty politics by manipulating minds & emotions of masses by mixing politics with religion which is in itself a dangerous combo and we know the outcome & consequences of that very well. We are just puppets in the hands of politicians.

    Before you come up with any replies let me clarify you that i don't support or align with any political parties. All parties are equally culpable for communal disharmony & chaos in the society. Our onus is to question the people in power rather than worshipping them blindly & More importantly we should never get thrilled & celebrate the sufferings of others. Our society may be divided on communal lines through fake news and Propoganda but we should accept the fact that we are Humans first. Humanity is what that counts. We don't realise this now but soon we all will be on same line God willing. Goodbye brother take care:)

    Kudos to the youngsters . State govt needs to take notes of all such acts and give suitable reward or certificates. Well done!!
    Is it really necessary to mention the religion as Muslim rescued by hindu or a Hindu rescued by Muslim .
    No one jumps into water by checking the identity of the person. It’s an instinctive decision and always all with do it . It’s only after rescuing they know who it is.
    Reminds me of a dialogue from Munnabhai MBBS, “agar bahar patient Marne ki halat mein padah rahan, to form fill karna zaroori hain kyan ?”
