Panaji, Feb 21: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant underscored the critical role of women in driving industries and societal progress while addressing NEXUS 2025, the flagship event of Goa Institute of Management.

Speaking as the chief guest, CM Sawant emphasized the importance of gender inclusivity and hailed the Women’s Reservation Bill, passed in 2023, which ensures 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies.

“The true strength of a society is reflected in how it uplifts those who have been unheard for too long,” CM Sawant remarked. “Empowerment begins when the potential of every individual is acknowledged, regardless of their background.”

The Chief Minister also highlighted various government initiatives aimed at fostering women-led entrepreneurship and leadership opportunities. He stressed that “true equality is not about division but about creating opportunities for all to lead.”

Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lourenco, also present at the event, informed attendees about the financial and infrastructural support available to women entrepreneurs through the Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC).

Prof Ajit Parulekar, Director of Goa Institute of Management, stated that NEXUS 2025 bridges the gap between academia and real-world business challenges, encouraging innovative problem-solving.

The event featured insightful panel discussions with leading women professionals in marketing, advertising, and business strategy. It also hosted competitive events where students showcased their marketing skills.

Attendees praised NEXUS 2025 for its inspiring sessions and networking opportunities. “This event was an eye-opener, highlighting the immense contributions of women in business and leadership,” said a student participant.

With its emphasis on empowerment and leadership, NEXUS 2025 has paved the way for a more inclusive and progressive business landscape in Goa.
