Bengaluru, May 28: The Congress has filed complaint with the police, accusing Dakshina Kannada MP and BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, of issuing nonsensical statement and providing false information on coronavirus.
Congress MLCs Ivan D'Souza and Prakash Rathod, filed a complaint at Vidhana Soudha police station against Nalin on Wednesday May 27.
"Nalin has been spreading false information that the position of World Health Organization's chairman was given to India in appreciation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's achievement in coronavirus management.
“In fact, this position was given to India on the basis of rotation. India's stature gets affected because of such childish statements at the international level. He also has claimed that people survived coronavirus because of Modi. He has been spreading false information by twisting the facts in violation of National Disaster Management Act,” they stated in their complaint.
