CM BSY writes to PM Modi asking to allow reopening of all religious places from June 1 in Karnataka

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (AM)

Bengaluru, May 27: Chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa on Wednesday, May 27, said that he has written to Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi requesting Karnataka to be allowed to reopen temples, mosques, churches and other religious places.

Speaking to media, CM said, “We have to get a lot of permissions before opening up, so let's wait and see. If we get permission, places of worship can open by June 1.”

All religious places, have been shut across the country since late March, after PM Modi announced a total lockdown to break the chain of coronavirus. While relaxations have been announced for many other things, religious places are not open yet.

It is said that a cabinet meet is expected on Thursday where the opening of religious places, including temples, mosques and churches is likely to be discussed.

It may be recalled, minister Kota Srinivas Poojary on Tuesday, had expressed hope that temples would open in June. He had maintained that the temples will be allowed to carry all the day-to-day activities except conducting fairs and ceremonies. The places of religious worship will also be required to maintain social distancing and other health norms, he had said.

State borders are sealed, due to alarming rise in Covid19 infections. Opening houses of worship, should not be encouraged, as it is a double edged sword !!!! which could easily boomerang, and worsen the situation with a second deadly pandemic wave, sweeping away the nation !!!

Yes our beloved Bishop of Mangalore and Udupi should take peoples openion before opening Churches. It is impossible to keep a distance and pray. Sanitizing the church after each mass is a big challenge. I think provide only benches , remove all other furniture. Reduce time of mass to only 15 to 20 min.

Most of aged people attend the mass may be daily and on Sundays. How can you allow aged persons ? There should be specific rules and regulations to attend the church ceremoies and masses. Our churches are very spacious. But the no. of people be restricted and extra masses be offered to cope with the situation

Body is the temple of God. This body is affecting by corona. We need not keep social distance or any other distance instead we should be one with God with our thoughts mind, spirit and body. Going to building temple is distancing from God. As liquor shop opened for revenue the spirituality of temple kept at stake for money.how can in the temple social distance maintained. Is there rationing of offerings and spiritual things and devotees.in the name God gatherings avoided.we can pray to God from the place where we are. God desire worship him by serving his own people many gods resembling him and same is temple

God is omnipresent. God is in you. Pray, search and ask Him from the walls of your homes. Surely our Gods are understanding enough to accept our prayers from wherever we pray from. Turbulent times when even God's houses are not safe enough. Safe guarding others from being exposed by not visiting His house by itself is a deed worthy of praise from Him. Stay safe. Stay blessed.

The CM decide to open temples, mosques and churches on his own, but wants the PM to take a call on opening malls and cinemas. Ha...ha...ha...! First it was wine shops, and now temples (permitting mosques and churches to open is a PR exercise to avoid backlash). The CM seems to be finding ways to fill the coffers. A clear case of bad administration.

Yes... Vishu.... If you pray from religious places also or from your house it won't be eradicated so soon vishu.... Why it didn't eradicate when all people irrespective of communities prayed all over the world instead lost so many people...??? God said.. Where 2/3 people gather in my name, there I am....In our own houses if all members pray together it's sufficient...can concentrate much at home. Religious houses we get distracted... Looking at every one... Even if religious places open up also, should be allowed only to visit and come... Everyone's body is temple of god if we follow accurately....
