Mangaluru, May 27: The state government has decided to allow opening of temples from June 1 onwards subject to following certain rules and restrictions.
Referring to the decision, Muslim Central Committee president, K S Mohammed Masood, criticized the decision of the government on opening of temples, which he termed as unilateral.
"The government is not justified in taking a decision on opening of temples alone. Why temples alone? The government should also allow mosques and churches to begin functioning. It should allow prayer centres of all religions to open," he stated.

Masood reminded the government that during the Ramzan, the Muslims were inside their houses instead of visiting mosques. He termed the government's decision to allow the prayer centres of a particular religion to open from June 1 as unjustified. He advised the government not to play politics in such a sensitive issue, and provide equal opportunities to all the religions.
