Mangaluru/Udupi, May 26: No coronavirus cases were reported in Dakshina Kannada (DK), while three new cases were detected in Udupi on Tuesday May 26.
In Dakshina Kannada, a total of 42,101 people have been screened so far including 23 on Tuesday. As many as 47 people are currently admitted in NIT-K Surathkal quarantine facility. Another 27 are quarantined in ESI hospital.
As many 6,073 people have completed 28 days of quarantine.
A total of 7,530 samples have been sent for tests so far, out of which reports of 6,389 tested negative, and 70 positive, out of which 37 are currently active. As many as 26 persons have recovered and been discharged, and seven deaths have occurred so far.
Out of the 70 positive cases, 62 are from Dakshina Kannada and eight patients are from other districts.
As many as 505 samples were sent for testing on Tuesday. Reports of 417 samples were received on Tuesday which were all negative.
Reports of 698 samples are awaited. As many as eight people have been admitted for observation.
A total of 4,201 people have been treated at fever clinics so far. On Tuesday, seven cases of severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) were reported.
A total of 24,553 migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and Jharkhand have been sent home by special Shramik trains.
Udupi
As reported earlier, three people who had returned from Maharashtra tested corona-positive. The three are females aged 9 and 30 and a man aged 27.
As per the health bulletin released by the Udupi district administration, a total of 3,596 people have completed 28 days of quarantine, including 42 on Tuesday, and a total of 4,472 have completed 14 days of quarantine, including 78 on Tuesday. As many as 224 persons are currently in home quarantine and 8,142 are under institutional quarantine.
Altogether, 61 high-risk persons and 17 low-risk persons are under hospital quarantine. A total of 103 people are in isolation wards, including 18 fresh admissions on Tuesday. Among them, six are coronavirus suspect, while nine others have SARI and three influenza-like illness.
As many as 624 people, including 29 on Tuesday, have been discharged from isolation wards so far.
A total of 9,787 samples have been collected so far, including 1,581 on Tuesday, among whom 66 are coronavirus contacts. Out of them, 3,708 samples have turned out to be negative, and 5,968 reports are awaited. As many as 111 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including a death. Three have recovered, and 107 are active.
