Brahmavar, May 24: On May 24 a police constable who belongs to the Brahmavar police station tested positive for the coronavirus. Reportedly, he would visit his wife's house in Vaddarse every day after duty. But, with the new development concerning his health, the locals of the area have become apprehensive.
Officials have been involved in tracing primary contacts of the constable. Meanwhile, the entire neighbourhood has been sealed and a buffer zone of 1 km has been created.
The family members of the police constable have been placed under quarantine and the people in the neighbourhood are ordered home quarantine.
The officials present during the sealing process were Udupi DC G Jagadeesh, Udupi taluk panchayat CEO Mohan Raj, DSP Jaishankar, Vaddarse gram panchayat president Hema, tahsildar Kiran Gaurayya, DHO Suddendra Chandrasooda and Kota SI Nityananda Gowda.
