Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 25: One person tested positive for coronavirus in Dakshina Kannada (DK) on Saturday, April 25. No cases were reported in Udupi.
The only person to be tested positive in Dakshina Kannada is 33-year-old woman from Bantwal. She was admitted into Wenlock Hospital here. She had been quarantined here on April 19. She happens to be the daughter of the 67-year-old lady who was admitted to Wenlock hospital on April 18 and is being treated for coronavirus.

As of April 25, a total of 39,464 people have been screened in the district. Forty-nine people have been quarantined at NITK Surathkal. A total of 6,073 people have completed 28 days of quarantine.
A total of 2,030 samples have been sent for tests so far, out of which 1,428 have tested negative and 18 positive. Four cases are currently active, and 12 have been discharged. Two deaths have been reported.
As many as 211 samples were sent on April 25. As many as 90 reports were received today in which 89 tested negative and one positive. Reports of 584 samples are awaited.
Forty-two persons are admitted for observation. As many as 1,406 patients have been treated at Fever Clinics.
As many as 16 have been diagnosed with severe acute respiratory illness (SARI).
In Udupi, a total of 1,973 people have completed 28 days of quarantine, including 44 persons on Saturday. A total of 2,620 have completed 14 days of quarantine, including 108 persons on April 25.
As many as 582 persons are presently under home quarantine. As many 16 people were admitted to isolation wards on April 25. Altogether, 49 are in isolation wards. A total of 290 persons have been discharged from the isolation wards, including 17 on Saturday.
As many as 1,043 samples have been collected so far in the district. On Saturday, 19 samples were collected and sent for testing.
Reports of 62 samples were received on Saturday, which were all negative.
Till now, Udupi district has recorded three coronavirus positive cases who have now recovered and are discharged.
