Mangaluru: Man who drove vehicle into on-duty police personnel arrested

Mangaluru, Apr 23: After a person drove his vehicle into police personnel who were busy checking the vehicles, a police officer on duty was injured. This incident happened at Bejai here on Thursday April 23 morning.

The person who has been accused of riding the vehicle on the policemen manning the barricades has been identified as Sadaqat. Traffic assistant sub-inspector Sooraj Kumar was injured as the vehicle hit him.

The police had set up barricades near Big Bazaar outlet at Bijai on Wednesday morning when the accused came that way with his vehicle. When the police tried to stop the vehicle, the accused directly drove his vehicle into the police guarding the barricade, it is learnt.

Accused Sadaqat stands arrested. A case was registered in this respect in Barke police station. The police are investigating.

    Edrward maben, how can you compare incidents and indirectly give escape route..do you thing these people will be hanged!, dont worry..if not new law, they will get bail..by the way, do you know Cricketer Siddu case..lower court, higher court proceedings ran for decades..finally it reached SC..then one of the judge Chamaleshwar just before a week of retirement gave judgemnt..judgement goes like this ' a bench headed by Justices Chalemeswar and Sanjay Kishan Kaul let Sidhu off with a fine of Rs 1,000, because "there was no evidence to prove that that the death was caused by the single blow" dealt by Mr Sidhu...yes , u read it correctly..for a 2 decade court trial and a unfortunate death SC filed Rs. One thousand!!
