Bengaluru, Apr 16: The state education department plans to facilitate the students who are confined to their homes due to lockdown, to study from the comfort of their homes. The YouTube channel created by the department was inaugurated by chief minister B S Yediyurappa, here on Thursday, April 16.
As a result of lockdown, all the schools are closed since about a month. The prospects of these schools reopening and imparting studies looks dim at least for a couple of months. As the time of the children is getting wasted without any activities, the education department plans to facilitate them to study during this period.
The primary objective of the department is to get the children engrossed in activities like stories, songs, painting, music, skits, plays, craft, adages, word puzzle etc. This will not only entertain them but also give fillip to their creativity. The channel has been titled 'Makkala Vaani Naliyona Kaliyona'.
The inaugural was done by the chief minister at his home office, 'Krishna'. Education minister Suresh Kumar, and health minister Sriramulu were present.
